Siren song
ethereal notes transport me
hop & skip lifted by rhythm voice & string
find the flow drift into a dream altered state

cold water
competed against
hot hot sun
competed against
hot hot sun
alone on the sand
anticipating heartache
instead I found peace
anticipating heartache
instead I found peace
half a moon
wanted to feel the
bright blue sky
you say you like feet?
mine had a beach pedicure
polished by the sand
flotsam meet jetsam
such a cute couple they make
washed up on the shore
written in the sand
love letter washes away
don't try to hold it

3 hours in Atlanta
cheery children's art
blesses the walls with color
lifting my spirit
don't drop your monkey
little girl runs joyfully
toward security
practicing
eye exercises
cube unfolds
patterns emerging
from different angles
worn floral carpet
rows of chairs
waiting to be filled
I'm here first
one peg is missing
from the crooked table leg
my coffee splashes
trying to decide
if familiarity
really breeds contempt
endless oldies loop
should solve that mystery soon
where's my mp3?
waiting to be filled
I'm here first
one peg is missing
from the crooked table leg
my coffee splashes
trying to decide
if familiarity
really breeds contempt
endless oldies loop
should solve that mystery soon
where's my mp3?
3 books in my bag
philosophy, magic, food
pretty much the same
the meaning of life
found perched on a mountain top
or in a teacup
cosmic joke
so serious it
makes me laugh
domino affect
single truth starts the cascade
a light bulb moment

have medicine will travel
roadside medicine
abundance for our healing
go slowly and see
Hey St. John
summer picking gives
winter cheer
astringent seeds are
implantation prevention
Queen Anne's Lace discerns
precious pink soapwort
wash my dishes, hands or clothes
sexy saponins
yellow dock
purification
for organs
sweet berries
pause, say thanks & eat
be nourished
make a plantain plaster
chew the leaves until they're mush
de-itchify me
roar of the lion
disrespected king of weeds
good for my liver

bliss
spider let me close
not too shy to eat the fly
until camera clicked
not too shy to eat the fly
until camera clicked
Yemaya's embrace
nothing heals me like you do*
goddess of the sea
tumbled in the waves
exfoliated by sand
blissfully smooth now
opposing forces
push and pull from depths to heights
ride the crests with me
*with thanks to heather nova

moon & stars
spangled black velvet
someone spilled glowing marbles
across the night sky
bright flowing puddle
mysteries unfolding
tell me what you want

Where the wild things are
a small flock of birds
rose from last night’s puddle in
symphonic lift-off
I raced the ground hog
and kicked his furry ass
with my longer legs
the rusty metal
with mysterious blue wires
somehow caught my eye
each image captured
proves my dominance over
mosquito forces
message from
my heart was found nailed
to a tree
advice to chipmunk
who barely avoided my wheels:
look before crossing
who can doubt
the amazing power
of green things?
raspberries
are well guarded by
leaves of three
sweet lavender vetch
interrupts the green expanse
urges me to rest
with all this beauty
surrounding, enfolding me
how could I feel sad?
