ancient train song fades
creosote fertilizes
dying beams give life

Just asking...

is there less beauty
in a solitary bloom
than in multitudes?

the full length of this
suspended animation

stretches before me

assuming permanence

particles floating frozen

tumble unaware

holiness within
reassembles perspective
awakens to joy

shopkeeper's wife

what is the story
behind the sudden change
in her demeanor

last dregs of lipstick
cannot disguise worry lines
suddenly arrived

avoiding my gaze
her downcast eyes perplex me
gone the cheery smile

here's your change sweetheart
the usual phrase comes whispered
she's somewhere else now

"You make me crazy"

drowning in the rush
these chemical distractions
keep sidetracking me

made by me or not
source doesn't matter
internal or external

weary of crazy
is there one who'll make me sane
try it once again

it's busy in the
cellular metropolis
comprising this soul

organic matter's
epic collaboration
really blows my mind

hearts & flowers

glowing perspective
captured lying on my back
perfect heart shaped leaves

catalpa's first blooms
tease me with sweet promises
of lushness to come

noticing

buds open, leaves stretch
all things wait to be noticed
even you and I

moonflower

sweet scented flowers
the moonlight's heady perfume
adrift in the night

arguing with dawn

each night while sleeping
tender kisses drive me mad
I argue with dawn

gladly trade these dreams
for a moment of conscious

skin to skin contact

the heat of closeness
overpowers cool dream state

cell receptors gape

sparks cross the gap

neurons fire in succession

building new pathways

ridin' again

across the way see
a spotted fawn pacing me
then pulling ahead

tunnel of green light
vine encrusted trees provide
sweet lacy shadows

music shares the ride
guided by drum boogaloo
now my pedals fly

start with the breath

inhale & exhale
breath of life winds of change launch
human odyssey

somewhere there's music

she sits on the bench
bouncing up and down in time
watch his fingers fly

play it fast daddy
is the moon really that high?
another one please

I remember this girl
and I remember her dad
they love each other

just a little bit longer

avoiding the pain
is like running from pleasure
they share the same path

just keep relaxing
and allow the discomfort
to keep me present

these shadows lengthen
and my depth grows greater
the longer I stay

the hunger

increase or decrease
is natural selection
a weapon or tool

howl pierces the night
now one hunger will be fed
moment by moment

Truth from Lies

What about this truth?
we're all seeking it~ out there
searching high and low,

Wondering, is it
possible to distinguish
truth from our stories?

These entertainments
we use to distract ourselves
from this moment now

Imagined dramas
is it lie? or can I trust?
all is found inside

on the bike trail

spanning the bike path
a glittering spider web
I duck, leave it whole

marveling at this
fragile feat of construction
a new view of strength

dead trees emerge
from glassy water’s surface
like Roman columns

yesterday's rainstorms

left puddles, mud and debris

some is now on me

Gigi

lifting her voice in
anxious infatuation
motivating hips

ephemeral trails

this morning's question~
what separates me from you?
ego's illusions

transient as clouds
these thoughts simply disappear
if I just let them

waging haiku

welcome to my blog
apparently I'm ready
to show more of me

waking up, sharing
my effort to reduce things~
I'm waging haiku

the elegance of
these seventeen syllables
my aspiration
